The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

LT movies

Several people have been asking for my opinion on the various upcoming LT movies (and TV show).

So here's my opinion so you need not ask again.

1. Speedy Gonzales movie in which Speedy will be voiced by George Lopez: WTF!?

2. Bugs Bunny movie: Fuck you WB

3. Pepe lePew movie in which Mike Myers will be voicing Pepe: SON OF A BITCH!

4. LT show set to air this fall (no I don't know exactly when, but I will update when I know): I hate their designs, scared for the 3D and pessimistic about the musical numbers. However, I will reserve judgment on the writing and over-all handling of the characters when I see it. I am not upset about Jeff Bergman doing Bugs and Daffy's voices (though I feel Joe Alaskey does a better Daffy).

I'm pleased that WB is taking some sort of interest in LT, but I feel they'd be better off by just fucking showing LT on TV on a regular schedule? Maybe put Duck Dodgers and Tiny Toons back on the air for good measure? Yes? Make sense?

Uhm, I have a right to be mad about WB fucking around with the LT brand. Just because I'm probably not going to watch these movies, doesn't mean I'm not going to be upset they exist. It's frustrating that WB has such a viable brand and all they choose to do with it is make cheap, childish, CGI rip offs.

With the original LT off the air, this new generation of kids will have no idea how awesome LT really is. They might as well be the next Barbie movies.

WB making these movies NOT suck would be the biggest fucking surprise. Ever.

It's ok to be upset, but don't worry this new generation will know how awsome olds LT are because you and I are going to tell them, my niece and nephews freak out when they first saw Bugs Bunny (and now they love it) and it would happen to you too, in five or ten years only the good cartoons will remain on the memories of the people, trust me
